Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil or Shortening
- 1/2 cup Chile Powder
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan or skillet, melt shortening or warm the olive oil over low to medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook until a light brown (approximately 4 minutes) making a roux as a base for the Red Chile Sauce.
- Once the roux has turned a golden brown, over medium heat, whisk in the Red Chile Powder.
- When the roux and chile powder have been blended completely, add water and cook to desired consistency.
- Add in salt, pepper, cumin, garlic salt, whisk, and serve.
